A lot on my plate

It was cold this morning. The wind was blowing. Snow didn’t quite reach the valley, but blanketed the hills.

Today’s self-centered tarot card is 2 of Seas, Love from the Mythical Goddess Tarot by Sage Holloway with artwork from Katherine Skaggs.

image
2 of Seas, Love

Two dolphins! I never thought of yin and yang as depicted in this card’s image. I want to go play in that pool a little closer to the waterfall. This card is the equivalent of the two of cups in traditional tarot. Typically depicted as two full and/or overflowing cups.

Holloway explains, “Two waterfalls flow into one, just as individuality forms the basis of true union.” It’s feeling a little Days of Our Lives here. Then she really kills it by eventually saying, “Open your heart fully to the relationship you deserve.”

Really? I guess. I have a lot on my plate right now. I’ll call you? Gotta run!

I liked the card more before I knew there were two waterfalls. My heart is open to a relationship, but it’s fully committed my children. My heart chakra is pretty open though, so who knows?

Note the astrological symbols in the card the plus person is Venus, while the sideways 69 is Cancer. Venus is the planet of love and Cancer is ruled by the Moon. The Moon rules emotion. Venus in Cancer is a happy time.

Excited to Begin

It was rainy this morning. I didn’t carry an umbrella. My beanie was enough before and after work. It’s still raining tonight.

Today’s self-centered tarot card is Queen of Bows, Hare from the Wild Wood Tarot by Mark Ryan and John Matthews illustrations by Will Worthington.

image
Hare

The Hare is an excellent card. This is an unlikely queen. The look in her eye and the creepy setting put me on alert too. The moss in the foreground gives me hope.

Ryan and Matthews say, “Witty and wise, gentle and kind the Queen supports you and strengthens your resolve.” The card relates to success in business and reminds us to treat others with kindness and empathy.

My resolve has been strengthened over the holidays… in more ways than one. Excited to begin/continue my new venture.

Vehicles of Healing

I am on edge today. My life is great, so the combative energy I am feeling does not add up. I looked at the astrology. The current Mars in Libra transit is opposite my natal Mars in Aries. Finally, this angst makes sense. It’s all feeling similar to this time two years ago. Thank goodness the Universe has my back! The feeling may be similar, but my place is certainly better than I could have imagined back then.

My life has undergone radical change since July. We moved in September to a much easier home to live in. It seemed to happen quickly and easily. Before it could happen though, I had to dismantle my old belief systems and self-limitations. It was a painful process. The tarot cards I drew concerning our new home reassured me things would work out.

My new home has a dedicated space for crystal healing. The energy here is fantastic. My friends and family are amazed at how effective crystal healing can be. Crystals are awesome vehicles of healing.

I meditated with these crystals today, then decided to draw a tarot card. Today’s self-centered tarot card is Kuan Yin from the Mythical Goddess Tarot written by Sage Holloway with artwork by Katherine Skaggs.

image
Kuan Yin with Crystals

The tall crystals in the back are amethyst druze (spiritual), the green one on the left is malachite (healing), the brown looking one is pietersite (manifestation), and the clear sphere is quartz (cleansing & amplification).

Interesting the colors of the crystals are in card. The card exudes wellness. Green for abundance, purple for the wisdom of the third-eye, and yellow in this card is enlightenment. Holloway says, “Kuan Yin radiates the perfect fusion of love and wisdom, and through her elegance and gentleness, offers healing to all.” Lovely. And strange I would draw this card now given the astrology. And not so strange.

Changing this World

Today is a sunny blue sky day. It has been smokey here for at least a week. California is dried up and the West is on fire. The air quality alerts keep coming up on my phone. This afternoon things seem to be clearing up. The wind is blowing the smoke out of the valley.

Today is a two-card day! Today’s self-centered tarot card is the Hermit and the Queen of Swords from the Wizard’s Tarot by Corrine Kenner, illustrated by John J. Blumen.

image
Hermit and Queen of Swords

The two cards are an unlikely pair. The hermit alone with his Virgo book, indicating his dedication to the Earth and knowledge. The Queen of Swords is a beautiful fairy. She has gorgeous wings and lovely white gown. She is experience yet pure, and quite distracted. Does she require some lost knowledge only the hermit has? Maybe she turns herself into that little mouse on the hermit’s shoulder in her own quest for knowledge.

Exciting things are happening in my life. There are tiresome details to attend to, but this change occurring is going to allow for amazing growth and sharing. I am working with people who, like me, are capable of whatever they put their mind to and are changing this World with integrity!

Happiness and Love

It’s summertime! It feels good. The sky is blue. There are hardly any clouds. The Sun just slipped from view on the Western horizon.

Today’s self-centered tarot card is Six of Chalices from the Sirian Starseed Tarot Deck by Patricia Cori illustrated by Alyssa Bartha. The two little angels remind me of my brother and I when we were a bit more angelic. They are so happy and full of love. The chalices dance around them like stars in the sky.

This card is wonderful! The element of water represents our emotions in astrology. The six full cups of water are a symbol of happiness and love. There is much to celebrate. Cori says the Six of Chalices indicates a “… shift in focus back to celebration of the innocence and trust of the decisions made at the soul level.” It does seem some blockage of energy has been removed from my collar bone. Some really heavy soul level or collectively owned stuck energy that needed transmutation was released in early April. My mother took the brunt of it. Sorry Mom!

The energy started easing up in May only to be met by Mercury retrograde, I guess to be rehashed one more time before finally moving forward. The new energy is here. It is time to step into it with open hearts and open minds.

I am going start by soaking up as much light as I can at the pool tomorrow!

Rainbow Healing

The weather has been amazing lately. Spring is such a beautiful season. It was warm enough to just wear my sweater into the office this morning. The lilacs smelled so wonderful on my way into the building.

Today’s Self-centered tarot card is Rose from the Power of Flower cards by Isha Lerner. She has given permission to lightworker.com to reproduce the text and images from her deck on their website. It’s a quick fun way to draw one or three cards on the go.

image
Rose

The synchronicity of the Universe makes me smile. Just a moment after drawing today’s card a woman walked into the room and asked if anyone had seen the double rainbow outside. I got right up and walked outside to witness the beauty. It was a single rainbow making a full arc in the sky, just like the card.

The great thing about this card is that yesterday I was reminded of someone I will always care about. We were together a little over a year. The old masculine control thing was too much for me, so I distanced myself. I started feeling judged and unimportant. It was quite uncomfortable. After a few months of that he broke up with me in a very hurtful way.

I know I deserve a beautiful partnership where together we are greater than the sum of our parts and we are both free to live our individual lives while honoring one another.

Lerner offers a helpful interpretation of Austrian mystic Rudolph Steiner’s belief that Mother Mary gave birth to twin souls represented here by the yellow and pink rose. Yellow representing the “path of truth” and pink the “path of the Heart.” Lerner states, “In choosing this card, you are greeted by the Rose Goddess, gently announcing your readiness to accept the twin gifts of Cosmic Love and Wisdom embodied by the Mystic Rose.”

It is my great honor to receive this card today. Interesting as today I have been sending blessings to my ex, so that he may be happy and turn that frown upside down. The Rose let me know my actions are correct in both distancing myself and in sending blessings. The rainbow represents that healing is taking place.

Honoring my truth and my heart was not easy, but love, especially self-love is difficult. We have to love ourselves first, so we don’t get caught up in the darkness of others. When we truly love ourselves we move out of the lower densities and open our hearts to accepting unconditional love from the Universe. And with that available to us we can heal not only ourselves, but others as well.

Steeped in the Physical

There are many times in life when I find myself in places and/or situations I never thought I’d be in. Right now I’m in the back room of a video game shop with a bunch of kids. It’s Pokémon time.
Today’s card is Four of Vessels, Pregnancy, from the Native American Tarot Deck created by Magda and J.A. Gonzales. The image on the card is that of a beautiful young pregnant woman.

The card is amazing. No I am not literally pregnant. Rather pregnant with dreams on the verge of being realized. No longer the dreams of youth, my dreams of now are steeped in the physical experience of my travels through Asia and North America, my own marriage and divorce, parenthood,  career, and injury.

Thank goodness that Scorpio full moon cleared out the equinox eclipse/blood moon energies that forced everyone else’s energy onto my one last nerve. It was tough. Glad that’s done and now it’s time to prepare for that baby to be born.

Deadly Beauty

My family is visiting Yellowstone National Park. It was snowing when we drove in on Sunday. Today is a bright blue day with warm 65°F spring weather.

I see the snowy peaks from West Yellowstone, Montana. We are here just before the park really opens for the season. The park is open year round, but many roads are closed for the winter. Don’t worry if you come in the winter. Old Faithful and Mammoth Hot Springs are open year round. Most attractions are scheduled to be open May 1st.

Standing in the steam emitted from the geysers is nice. The sulfur can be a bit much at times. The colors and the natural formations are deadly beauty.

Buffalo alongside Firehole River, Yellowstone National Park

We were very lucky to see a lone wolf running along the north side of the Madison River. My mother spotted it. I know her abilities well enough to pull over so we could get a better look. She was beautiful. Mostly white with longer touches of gray and brown. We saw her pounce on a rodent, but I think she was just showing off for us. On the other side of the highway we saw a buffalo. We even saw a calf later in the afternoon. The first in the herd this spring.

The forests are thick with trees. We did not see any moose, but saw their favorite trees with missing strips of bark. At Old Faithful the wolves started howling in the distance letting us know the geyser would erupt soon. It has been a very nice trip. Although you may want to arrive here after May 1st.

Well Deserved

Today was a beautiful day. The pain in my shoulder dissipated overnight. The sky was bright blue and the weather is warm.

Today’s self-centered tarot card is 1 Prosperity Begins from the Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck by John Holland. I love the card! A well tended peach tree reminds me of my grandpa. He grew the best peaches.

image
Prosperity Begins

This deck is unique in its presentation of symbolism and archetypes choosing to use the chakra system for its emotional foundation rather than the typically astrologically based tarot. Though it is an oracle card deck.

Today’s card is the color red. Red is the hardest color to see due to its low frequency. It represents the root chakra which, is all about having your basic human needs met such as food, water, and shelter. It goes deeper though to your family of origin and how your needs were met. Still it goes deeper into your family line, genetics, DNA. Finally, the root chakra connects us to Earth.

My basic needs are met. But, my body is going through changes constantly. It is hard to feel settled when you become aware of your body on a cellular level. And start feeling the light drag through your fingers as you walk the same way water does when you go swimming.

These amazing experiences make it difficult to relate to other people. Ever since the March Solar eclipse my life has been challenging. It’s like everyone wants to touch my open wounds. There was a span of four weeks when I didn’t even have a chance to go crystal shopping. Yesterday made up for it though. Two massive crystals were found in the ground and wrapped in leather next to our irrigation valve. One is quartz. The other is red and yellow jasper. Beautiful! My neighbor wanted me to place the jasper so it would face his house.

I’m so glad this card came up today. It started feeling like things were cheering up this morning. Events throughout the day confirmed it for me and this card I suppose solidifies it. This deck is hard for me to use, because it really makes me push through the blockages. Things are looking up!

Time for one last day at work before a well deserved road trip! Yellowstone here I come.

Positive Changes

It’s beautiful outside today. Sunny with blue sky and intermittent clouds. It’s cold outside.

Today’s self-centered tarot card is the Six of Flames from the Sirian Starseed Tarot by Patricia Cori, illustrated by Alyssa Bartha. The card is amazing to look at as usual. The Sun is shining through the center flame. Making it appear larger than the others. Power here is an illusion. There is great responsibility involved with balancing many interests for the best of all involved.

image
Six of Flames

Yesterday, I got Five of Flames so when this card came up I felt triumphant. Over what I don’t know. The weekend was a bit rough. The whole time Friday night I was thinking to myself, “I had enough of this same deal last year!” Sometimes no matter what you do, history has to repeat itself.

The key is to make positive changes incrementally over time. They build into something greater. Others see the impact you are making and they make their own positive changes.

The time is now to make renewable energy the new frontier. I am ready for the time we are freed from survival mentality and the horrors that come with it. We will create amazing new ideas together and bring them to our collective reality!

Time of Reflection

Today was a gorgeous spring day! The sky was blue with no clouds. It was so lovely I had to turn on the air conditioning upon returning from the park this afternoon.

Today’s Self-Centered Tarot card is Seven of Pentacles from the Wizard’s Tarot by Corrine Kenner, illustrated by John J. Blumen. The woman on the card appears to be waiting for the harvest to finish ripening. Kenner states, “When the Seven of Pentacles appears… you can probably expect some downtime-a brief pause while you wait, reflect, and hope for the best as all of your endeavors come to fruition.”
Seven of Pentacles
The card is fitting for me right now. I have put in a great deal of effort designing my website, growing my audience, and now working on my crystal healing certification. I am willing to wait for the fruit to ripen as the process is the most important part for me, for my spiritual growth. Maybe I’ll help a few others grow with me. I am enjoying this time of reflection.

~Athena

Capable

Today is an important day. Not only is it vernal equinox there was a solar eclipse at the last degree of Pisces this morning (MST). We reached a state of balance with equal night and equal day today. At the same time we were blocked from the energy of our Sun. This allowed us to “reboot” and easily accept incoming energies from deep space directly. We are now officially living in the Age of Aquarius all while the Sun moves into Aries. All of this and the weather was gorgeous!

Today’s self-centered tarot card is Master of Flames from the Sirian Starseed Tarot by Patricia Cori, illustrated by Alyssa Bartha. The man on this card is wearing indigenous clothing. His hair is long. He is clean shaven and wears a headband. He seems unmoved yet movable if need be.

image
Master of Flames

Cori says, “Fire is transformative. It is fuel for the soul–a sacred vehicle of divine inspiration and the awareness of one’s own godliness. It is the highest vibration of the Tarot suits.” She describes the Master as having mastered “his own process, overcoming the ego-self,  and reaching pure consciousness.” More importantly the Master can “reach into the feminine aspect of his being to exalt the energies of himself.”

More than ever I feel capable. Over the last three years, I have shed layer upon layer of what no longer serves me. I am now having fun working with crystals and vibrational healing. I am breaking that final egg shell membrane to live in my fullness.

~Athena

Embracing Joy

This morning came too soon. The sunrise was nice. Even the chem trails in the Eastern sky were pretty in their unnatural way. Everyone was in a good mood.

Today’s self-centered tarot card is the Ten of Cups from The Goddess Tarot by Kris Waldherr. Wow,  what a great card! The image of the rainbow with the ten cups in an arch as well. The water reflecting the cups and the rainbow making a circle embracing joy. The land is encircled in the background as well.

The Universe is showing me that I am doing exactly what I need to do. The crystal healing course I am taking is giving me a boost. There are many others with similar interests in the class. We are all pursuing our interests in ways as unique as we are. The public is also interested in crystal healing.

Yesterday some women at a local antique dealer were interested when I bought several crystals and did not need the tags identifying the crystals. I explained that I am a crystal healer and know the names. Soon we were chatting and they asked if I taught classes. Just a few days prior to that I downloaded the forms to sign up to teach a community education class.

Just when it seems nothing is working,  things always manage to change. My goals in life continue to evolve as I do. The rainbow always symbolizing hope and the ten full cups abundance.

~Athena

Inextricably Linked

Today was a crisp blue day. The sky was virtually cloudless. The Virgo full moon visible in the afternoon sky. Gratitude and wonder abound at how I’m even here in this skin experiencing such beauty.

Today’s card is The Star from the Wizard’s Tarot by Corrine Kenner, illustrated by John J. Blumen. The card screams astrology. The Egyptian priestess is wearing clothing resembling a star filled night sky. There are astrological tools all around here and a chart she is unrolling in her lap.

image
The Star

Kenner says, “The art of tarot is inextricably linked with the study of the stars. The professor of astrology (The Star) will help you make the most of both forms of divination.” I do like both art forms. Tarot cards and astrology are tools. I use them to gain a better understanding of events in my life and my place in the world. One of my goals with these Self-centered Tarot readings is to show others how to use the tarot to navigate their own lives.

I’m glad this card showed up today. It’s bright light is helping to navigate me out of a challenging emotional period. The challenge is in accepting myself and my deep need for true fulfillment in my work here on this Earth. This card seems to say, “You’re on the right path.” Especially since the card represents the sign of Aquarius, which is ruled by Uranus the planet of sudden change. Transiting Uranus and Venus (love) are currently conjunct, and on top of my natal Jupiter (growth). A breakthrough.

May your star shine brightly for you!

~ Athena

Loving Yourself

Today was a bright blue sunny day. Cold wind, but nice Sun. Spring will be here soon and I cannot wait. Especially after drawing today’s card.

Today’s Self-centered Tarot Card is the 5 of Emotions from the Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck by John Holland. The card has beautiful colors and the wonderful geometry of the golden mean. You can tell the subject is deeply hurt. The pain in his eyes and brow is quite evident as is the covering of his heart chakra with his hands. Although he is now hurting, the Sun is there in the background. The sacred geometry pouring fourth from the man’s heart illustrate the great depth and meaning of events that have transpired.
image

This card makes me cry. It seems as though I have been struggling so much with my emotions lately. My father had a stroke a couple of years ago that really affected me deeply. Relating to him is quite different. It is hard to face the fact that my dad just cannot be there for me the way he used to be. The person I was romantically involved with at the time dumped me shortly thereafter. I believe that individual was either a divine catalyst or a twin flame. Either way the double whammy really did a number on me.

These events have left me with much the same countenance as the man in the card. Pensive, hurt, and knowing there is a depth here that cannot go unnoticed. Powerful growth is underway. Growth in my ability to love myself. It is not an easy task in this world. Especially after untold number of failed romantic relationships. All of them seeming to fail to bring me to this point. A point where I must speak my own truth and truly pay attention to another’s actions. Actions speak much louder than words.

John Holland says, “Honor your feelings. Only by healing and loving yourself — by letting go of the past — can you continue your journey. The suffering associated with this loss delivers profound wisdom and knowledge for your soul.” Indeed it has delivered me to myself, perhaps the greatest gift of all. Holland provides hope, “Focus all your positive energy on the good in your life and what you’re grateful for. Use your healing energy in this way and try not to focus on what you’ve lost, for new beginnings and happiness are just around the corner.”

~Athena

Movement Everywhere

Today was so beautiful. The clouds were like fluffy cotton balls arranged perfectly across the bright blue sky. Spring is upon us.

My Self-centered Tarot card of the day is X The World from the Sirian Starseed Tarot by Patricia Cori illustrated by Alyssa Bartha. The image seems simple, but there is quite a bit going on. There is movement everywhere from the atom, to the snake, to the Milky Way. The colors Bartha uses are perfect and you can see a mimicking of the snake’s head in the tail of the galaxy.

The last week has been tremendously emotional for me. All for purely egoic reasons, which really just means I need some me time. On the beach in the Sun, me time. The only one who is going to make it happen is me. It’s time to stop spending so much time in an office not being fulfilled. I have a deep need to be of real use in this world. That means not doing anything my heart isn’t into anymore.

Today’s card reinforces what I already know. Change is underway. Crystals and healing are my passion. I must follow the passionate path to really live and be in my fullness. Tomorrow is our local gemshow. I can’t wait to see what I find and what finds me!

Astral Vacation

Today is a weird President’s Day. I stayed home with the kids today, since there was no school. Before the kids woke up I was in the shower. By the time I was finished and went downstairs they were ready for pancakes, eggs, and bacon. After breakfast I was planning on going grocery shopping, joining my parents for lunch, and then going to see our counselor. Grocery shopping was put off until after the appointment, and then never happened. My parents and I never quite connected to meet for lunch. The counseling appointment ended with me feeling worse about things. Things are not bad, they are just hard. It is hard being a single parent. I strongly advise against becoming one unless it is your best alternative, which it was in my case. Nonetheless, it is not easy.

My Self-centered Tarot Card of the day is The Chariot from the Wizard’s Tarot from Corrinne Kenner, illustrated by John J. Blumen. The card comes as a bit of a surprise. I was not expecting to draw such an empowered woman on her high flying broom. My energy feels weak and weepy today. Much is happening in the image. The witch is in Egypt flying above the palm trees, pyramids and sphinx. There is a dog or coyote that seems to be her protector. Pi and the Moon frame her star adorned hat brim. It seems as though she is on a journey in search of something important. Her spirit guides protect her in her quest.

image

Kenner writes something that stays with me, “The band of her hat features shimmering glyphs of the astrological sign Cancer. The stars of the constellation Cancer are swept up in the bristles of the broom, too. Cancer is the sign of home and family life–but astral projection makes it possible to see the world without leaving home.” Now the reason this really sticks with me is that our counselor suggested a vacation. A vacation seems completely out of reach at this point in my life for a multitude of reasons.

My plan is to do some fun things around town with the kids for spring break. We’ll have a nice little staycation. I’ll do some astral travelling and see the world in my dreams. Luckily I have already seen the pyramids, but only from the air. Weird kind of like this card. Did I just connect timelines?!? February 2015, meet July 2001. I only saw the pyramids from the air, because I was en-route to New York City after contracting Malaria in Calcutta (Kolkata).

Really what I need to do is keep on writing about how to apply spiritual tools to our everyday lives. Tarot is one such tool. Meditation is probably the greatest key to unlocking our latent spiritual gifts. Crystals inspire me and make me feel good. I am excited to go to our local gem show this weekend. I may be offering some crystals and related items for sale on my website soon.

If you too lack the time, money, or energy to take a vacation by all means take an astral-vacation. I hope to start tonight!

Majestic Beauty

This morning was a great morning. We all made it to school and work bright and early. Even work and school were easy. It’s always nice to have an easy day.

Today’s Self-centered card is Mountain, Strength from the Earth Magic Oracle Cards by Steven D. Farmer. The image on the card is a majestic rocky mountain glowing in the sunset. Gorgeous.

image
Mountain, Strength

Mountains are magnificent beings. They are mysterious, cold, wild, dangerous, beautiful, inspiring, and full of awe. The Mountain whispers timeless tales into your ear with their cold windy breath.

The card reminds me to be still and rest in my fullness and be cognizant that, “When the mountain feels threatened in some way…” Farmer continues, “the strength exhibited can wreak havoc for all beings caught on its skin.”

My task is to maintain balance, remembering my strength has the potential to harm. My ego better not become enamored with the whole majestic beauty thing or there could be havoc to be wreaked.

New Methods

It was warm outside this morning. The rain stopped today. It had been raining for three days. We had to be out the door early for an orthodontist appointment. Palate expanders aren’t much fun for the little ones. Lucky we are all happy now and heading out the door shortly for some frozen yogurt.

Today’s self-centered tarot card is Ten of Shields, Harvest from the Native American Tarot Deck by Magda and J.A. Gonzalez. The man in the image appears to be young. He stoops low to cut the stem of tobacco plants. They are ready for harvest.

image
Ten of Shields, Harvest

The interpretation of this card seems pretty obvious, hard work, careful trending, and mother Earth provide a great harvest. The authors of the deck say,

“The essence of Harvest is new methods. A change in viewpoint brings knowledge, wisdom and rewards.”

More than ever my creativity is flowing almost to the point of lashing out when not released. This seems new, except that I have always been creative. My lifetime in “the system” educational, medical, banking, etc. killed my innate desire to have fun creating art, music, and poetry. I’m back. And it’s high time for new methods!

Reacting to Something

It was a foggy morning. My emotions were just as foggy as the morning. My body was in the midst of reacting to something. Am I feeling the fool (full) moon already? That was a Freudian slip of the fingers. Maybe I’m just a big cry baby.

Today is magically a two-card day. Guess the Universe knows I needed a pick-me-up after an emotional for no reason day. The self-centered tarot cards of the day are Three of Staves and Two of Cups from The Goddess Tarot by Kris Waldherr.

The woman in the first card is holding a stave in hand as a walking stick while she looks out to sea waiting for her ship to come in. Waldherr’s meaning, “An enterprise about to cumulate in success. The ability to transform goals into realistic action.” I say, maybe. Perhaps she is just a strong willed young woman who needed to get some air and is contemplating getting the hell out of there. Who really knows except her? At least she’s looking outward with her head held high!

In the second card, the woman sparkles in the moonlight, while the newly weds raise a cup to what they can achieve together. Notice the word can. One without the other is just one. Both together has great potential to be greater than the sum of its parts, literally. Luckily Waldherr saves me with her interpretation, “Integration of masculine and feminine aspects within oneself. An attraction that may become a serious relationship.”

While scrying after my meditation and prior to drawing the cards tonight, I saw many aspects of myself from many different space-time realities merge into the me here and now. Here’s to hoping for a hottie, just in case this situation turns out to be the latter. Cheers!

~Athena

The Smirk

Today is a beautiful day. It’s sunny and warm. The sky is a beautiful pale blue with wispy clouds in the distance. The promise of springtime is in the air.

Today’s card is the Adept of Crystals from The Sirian Starseed Tarot deck by Patricia Cori illustrated by Alysa Bartha. The smirk on this adept’s face shows his sense of power and over indulged ego. Cori says of the adept, “passionate, at times impulsive, filled with vitality and determination to advance.”

Crystals are beautiful. The one in the adept’s hands is powerful. With great power comes great responsibility. This card reminds me that while I am capable, I still have much to learn.

Tomorrow I will be installing a new car battery. Not one of those easy peasy under your hood car batteries. My car is a Volkswagen, so I first must partially remove the driver’s seat. I’m sure my patience will be challenged, but it will all turn out with me getting what’s hopefully not the last of the cheap gas!

More Here Now

This morning was foggy and cold. I meditated briefly before taking a shower. I should have meditated longer. My mood was just like the astrological weather, Mars cold in the fog who knows where doing who knows what for no reason conjunct Neptune in Pisces.

Mars in my natal chart is in Aries, the fire sign, and opposite Pluto, transformation, in Libra, the sign of balance. Basically that means I have quite a passionate fiery temperament. So, now after a few days of being in this fog, I’m ready to be out! Mercury also went retrograde today. So, I applied for a job. I have to take this Mars aggression out on something.

The tarot card I drew today took me aback a little. The subject’s hair in this one is a real doozy. Today’s self-centeredly drawn tarot card is Queen of Wands from the Wizard’s Tarot by Corrine Kenner illustrated by John J. Blumen.
image

The image on the card is that of a surreal Medusa. Her blue skin glows in the warmth of the contained fire on either side of her and in her wand. The Moon suggests the woman’s deep emotional connection and state of illumination. Kenner says of the queen, “She is sinewy and strong, willful and dynamic, confident and self-assured.” These are qualities I very much admire. Today I feel tired, weak, emotional, and yet I feel this desire deep within propelling me toward growth.

It seems this card has come to remind me, I am fiery and passionate. Even though this fog has me feeling unsure about my emotions, Neptune has been working with Mars to cut through some dense nebulous stuff in my heart chakra.

There is a powerful cleansing occurring on many levels within. My cells perceive new energy and are rapidly incorporating it into physical healing and nourishment, like another type of nutrient. There is a simultaneous release of old energy and a freeing of my soul to be more here now in the physical. It is painful and it feels so blissfully good. It feels like a great soothing all encompassing love is filling in those spaces left open.

Tomorrow I am going to meditate longer. It really sets the tone for a good day, when done properly.

Aware and in Control

The sunrise this morning was a gorgeous deep orange-red. The Moon was hanging above the southern horizon highlighting the day’s beauty.

Today’s self-centered tarot card is from the Goddess Tarot Deck by Kris Weldherr. Today was another two card day. Four of Swords fell out of the deck. Behind it was X Fortune, Lakshmi.

The woman sleeping with swords above her at first disturbed me until I realized she was aware and in control of them, even in the sleep state, indicating great strength. Waldherr states, “The four swords are suspended above her protecting her from the outside world.”

The next card, X Fortune, Lakshmi is gorgeous. She rides on the back of a beautiful bird with her twin flame, Vishnu. They survey the valley below and abundance flows.

Things aren’t perfect in my life, but they’re pretty damn good.

Change is Good

The day started off foggy. The Sun came out about lunchtime. It hurt my eyes for a moment. It has been many days since I last saw the blue sky. I am appreciative.

Today’s self-centered tarot card is 5, Financial & Material Changes from the Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck by John Holland.

The image on the card seems to indicate a split. The index finger and thumb are in splendid warm tones while the ring and pinky fingers are bathed in cool tones. The card seems to indicate divorce even though the ring is typically on the left hand in western cultures.

The number five represents change in numerology. It also represents the kind of change you find in your pocket, coins. Think pentagram on the suit of coins in the tarot. Apparently I can look forward to possibly disturbing changes that I need to keep my chin up about. Those changes are likely financial, and could include divorce as a partner’s money is part of our own financial well being.

The changes I foresee happening including harnessing my creativity via my index finger and thumb to create new opportunities for greater freedom.

Change is good. The kind that happens in our lives and the kind I find in my pocket!

Flowing Again

My day has been so interesting. I found a tumbled hematite crystal in the parking lot at my kids’ school this morning. It glistened its mercurial black chrome color in the icy parking lot. The stone was ice cold when I picked it up. A stone right there in my path. What was it doing there? It was obviously meant for me.

When I was about ten years old, I was riding my bike though my neighborhood when I came across what appeared to be a big chunk of round metal with a strange ridge around the center making one side slightly larger. It looked man-made. I remember saying, “This is a rock?” after I smelled it. The stone laid in the middle of my path like it had been placed there for me to find.

A couple of years ago I went into my local metaphysical store and was surprised to see another stone like the one I had found. It was the first time I had seen another one like it. It is a shaman stone, which has a sandstone core surrounded by an other layer composed mainly of iron.

My shaman stone is broken now. My brother broke it when we were kids. I always wondered what it was like inside, so I didn’t really mind. It is perfect for meditation now. I love it.

So, now today decades later a hematite shows up. Another stone composed mostly of iron. The shape is interesting. It has smooth edges and oblong skull shape that fits the palm of my hand perfectly. I love it too.

Magically today is a two-card day. Today’s cards are the Sage of Orbs and Three of Chalices from the Sirian Starseed Tarot deck by Patricia Cori illustrated by Alyssa Bartha. The Sage of Orbs card seems to be the most homely card in the deck. Luckily the meaning Cori provides makes up for it.

Cori says, “The ultimate female authority… …the Sage is a queen, a priestess, a medicine woman, an earth mother.” The suit of orbs corresponds to the suit of swords in a traditional tarot deck. It represents thought, and the difficulties we face overcoming our own perceptions as well as the clarity that is found in “illuminating” thoughts.

The Three of Chalices is a lovely card. There appear to be three friends enjoying one another with flowers around their necks. Cori says the card represents, “… celebration of what comes from sharing emotionally and spiritually with others–without limitation.”

Finding that hematite today, then drawing these cards is so synchronistic. Things are flowing again and much more abundantly than ever before. And people are more genuine. Now is an amazing time. Let’s celebrate!

Double Helix Stairway

Early this morning we had freezing rain. Luckily we were up early and made it where we needed to be a few minutes early. After being gone the better part of two weeks, I was able to catch up on my work by lunchtime. It’s all about timing. Going with the flow helps too.

My emotions today have been deep, profound, painful, elating, freeing, and, as you can, see all over the place. This Full Moon in Cancer business really got to me. Seven of my nine natal planets are in cardinal signs. Transiting planets in cardinal signs always have an impact on me. The Sun is shining its light on deep dark Pluto right now as they oppose the Moon, which represents our emotions and/or our relationships with our mothers or maternal figures in our lives.

Today’s self-centered tarot card is so self-centered it isn’t even a tarot card. My Astrology Reading Cards by Allison Chester-Lambert illustrations by Richard Crookes caught my eye today. I figured maybe drawing a card would give me a deeper understanding of the currents of astrology in my own life.

Today’s card is Neptune. The card’s image is watery and dreamlike like the sign it rules, Pisces. Neptune is the nebulous and represents water in all its forms, taking the shape of the vessel that contains it.

Neptune represents our spirituality, our divinity, our unconditional love. This card assures me I’m on my path. I don’t know where it’s going. I don’t really care as long as I’m climbing that double helix stairway to heaven.

Taken Seriously

It was cold today, but not as cold as yesterday. My new washer and dryer arrived yesterday. The dryer stopped working nearly two weeks ago and the washer had been on its last leg for a while. Doing laundry at home is a great luxury. Thankfully my Mom helped me out.

Today’s self-centered tarot card is the King of Cups from The Wizard’s Tarot by Corrine Kenner illustrated by John J. Bluesman. The image on the card is that of King Neptune complete with trident and white hair. Quite physically fit for a sexy old guy.

This card is curious to me. I drew it a few days ago, then did not write about it that day. Occasionally a card needs to be taken seriously. This is a good day for this card. There is a Full Moon in  Cancer opposing a Sun-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn also squaring Uranus in Aries all of this at the same degrees of the cardinal signs set off during the April 2014 Cardinal Cross.

King Neptune is here to remind me that I owned April 2014. Sure it was an emotional roller coaster, just like this Full Moon. Part of the fun of the ride is the ups and downs. Enjoying it isn’t always easy. Sometimes it makes you sick.

Happiness all Around

Today is a good day. It snowed lastnight. Not too much, a couple of inches. My kids are on Christmas Vacation. We are home together this week. I am glad. They are growing so quickly. It’s nice to have now to share.

Today’s card is 10, Happy Family from the Native American Tarot by Magda and J.A. Gonzalez. The image on the card depicts the Native American family life. The mother is teaching the young child, while the father entertains the baby.

My life has been a non-stop rush of Christmas and deliveries. Things are coming together nicely. It seems like years of hard work are now manifesting abundance. Not that they did not before. It’s just easier now. It’s hard when kids are young to maintain balance.

The card depicts the true role of the young mother. Teaching while working. It’s tough being mom’d all the time and still having to get shit done.

As children grow they become more independent. The challenges of their younger years are offset by their bursting into beautiful considerate young people with brilliant ideas and eyes.

It’s nice now that my kids are in elementary school, I am able to take more regular and more sizable chunks of time for my own personal pursuits, like this blog. All while my children pursue their own interests. Happiness all around!

Change, Realignment and Freedom

Today is a beautiful grey. Clouds shroud the Sun, but its light shines through casting shadows in our living room. We’re home today enjoying time together.

My Self-centered Tarot card of the day is 5, Throat Chakra from The Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck by John Holland. The blue image on the card is a circle within a triangle within a circle surrounded by lotus petals, the throat chakra symbol.

The number five signifies change, realignment, and freedom. The throat chakra is all about truth.

Lastnight I had a powerful dream. I was hoping today’s card would provide some insight. Apparently, the dream is about truth, change, and realignment. All very interesting considering the sexual nature of my dream.

Magnetic Energy

Intense magnetic energy flooded my life for several days leading up to solstice. Incoming frequencies travel to Earth by way of Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs), comets, and Gamma Rays to name a few modes of travel. The new energy is easing the burden of shedding my old ways.

Some of my crystals called me to action. Just when I thought my phantom quartz pendant was a dud, it suddenly started interacting with me. It is helping me clear the residual yuck in my heart chakra.

My Self-centered tarot card of the day is King of Vessels, Heron from the Wild Wood Tarot by Mark Ryan and John Matthews illustrated by Will Worthington. The Heron is one of my animal spirit guides. Heron is a thinker, always reflective and waiting patiently for the right moment to take action. The deck’s authors say Heron is, “The guardian of many esoteric secrets, it is said to stand at the gateway between life and death and to act as mediator on the soul’s journey to the Celtic otherworld and reincarnation.”

I am at the precipice of some new way of being, a gateway. The energy is feminine and loves unconditionally. It attaches to your biophotons and changes your life as you live through your heart chakra.

My life is overwhelmingly busy. The new energy is increasing the hectic factor. The only way I’m staying in the flow is by concentrating on what needs to be done right NOW. And feeling my way through with my heart. Right now, I need to relax and watch a movie.

Global Community

It was hard to wake-up this morning. I sat briefly in meditation, grateful for another day. Each day is beautiful and unique like a snow flake.

Today’s card is Green Man, Synergy from Earth Magic Oracle Cards by Steven D. Farmer. This card is both spot on and wonderful. The image in this card really is what you make of it. The foliage feels alive. The playful masculine energy is both fun and intriguing.

Today was a great day! Work was fun. We all basically had a half-day off to celebrate our company. I won a Google Chromecast. Yesterday I decided that was the prize for me.

Maybe that brief meditation this morning had something to do with being “the lucky winner” today. Actually, I just knew already. You know, when you just “know.” Last week I almost bought one, but thought I better wait until after the party.

Life is so easy when you let it flow. Things came so easily today. From my prize to my popcorn to my ride. Literally popcorn and a ride came to me at the exact prefect moment.

So contrary to what is happening in the greater scheme of things. My mother told me there had been a massacre at a school where 135 children were killed.

I have not seen any media on this yet. But already I know an entire community is devastated. Not just the city or nation in which it took place. Our entire global community is witnessing an atrocity. Please everyone stop hurting each other. Those children deserved to let their light shine!

There is space for all of us, and all of our beliefs. Hurting each other just makes it harder to be happy. There is plenty of abundance on this planet. Let’s simply share our abundance and be at peace. We are smart and compassionate. We can do it together!

The micro-macro mirror is an interesting thing. We are one planet, let’s act accordingly.

Piezoelectric Exchange

The water in the dog’s fish was frozen over this morning. The weather has been warm for a few weeks. The days are still getting shorter and colder.

The Self-centered tarot card of the day is Master of Crystals from the Sirian Starseed Tarot deck by Patricia Cori illustrated by Alysa Bartha. The image on the card is a crystal skull reminiscent of Sha-na-ra or Max. Both powerful energies who communicate their wisdom and knowledge to fortunate individuals.

I love this card. Crystals have become a big part of my life over the last couple of years. I have always had an interest, but in April 2012 my amethyst cluster had a piezoelectric exchange with me via my heart chakra. Things have been different ever since. Many crystals are now part of my life.

Yesterday I mediated in the Sun with my red Lemurian sunrise Andara crystal. The Sun was powerful. The crystal and I were sharing information as the Sun nearly overwhelmed me with new information.

Interestingly, after my meditation, I was shopping for crystals and learned the crystal is an ascension tool. The crystal assists one in awakening to self-knowledge ushering in the Age of Aquarius.

According to Cori the Master has, “an inner strength and knowledge of the domain of the suit represented.” Having “achieved mastery of his own process, overcoming the ego-self, and reaching pure consciousness…” Cori describes the suit of Crystals “the flower of the mineral kingdom” having the ability to “embrace abundance, without being addicted to it.”

I am honored to have drawn this card today. Crystals are beauty flowers from the Earth’s core. I love them, always have, always will.

The World

Today is Friday, December 12, 2014. The sunrise was gorgeous. The rain came in the afternoon. We enjoyed a visit with friends tonight. It was fun. We laughed a lot. It’s still raining.

The Self-centered tarot card of the day is XXI The World, Gaia from The Goddess Tarot Deck by Kris Waldherr. I like the image on the card. But, what does this card really mean?

The World is a very big place. I have traveled all the way around it once, and to the other side on three separate occasions. I have an appreciation for the immensity of our planet, and the luxury of modern air travel.

We live in the midst of the greatest beauty. I will always be in awe of our mountains, deserts, beaches, oceans, and volcanoes. Not to mention the sky! Day and Night.

Still I wonder what is the World?

According to Waldherr the card means, “Experiencing connection with the universe. A sense of expansion and hope.” Maybe. I think the generally accepted meaning is that you have the World in your hands.

The World is whatever we want to make it for ourselves, while balancing the fact that we share our Earth with one another. Make it happy. Smile with your eyes and live through your heart. Bring your dreams to fruition! Recycle.

Voluntary Exchange

It has been foggy for about the last week. It burns off as the day progresses. This evening the sky was the most beautiful deep dark blue. No words in my vocabulary to portray it’s beauty.

Today’s card is quite interesting to me, mostly because of what happened prior to drawing it. This is a new deck and fun to shuffle! No cards were coming up, so I just kept shuffling. My mind wandered to thoughts of a past relationship.

I quickly realized and told myself not to go there and shook it off.  I asked the cards to work with me for the best of the Universe and all involved. Then I realized the card could not come up until the deck was cleared. So, I energized the cards and knocked on them three times. I cleared my mind and asked spirit what I need to know.

I drew 6, The Forest Lovers from the Wild Root Tarot by Mark Ryan and John Matthews with card illustrations by Will Worthington. The image on card says it all.

Ryan and Matthews add depth, “True love comes from joining of two polar energies to create a third force or consciousness. It is an interchange of energy and passion, not the surrender or domination of either but a voluntary exchange of will power and respect.”

Seeing the ribbons tying this couple together and to the tree immediately brought me to an emotional state and back to a powerful dream in which I was being married atop a rocky outcrop underneath an ancient  tree. My lover placed a yellow ribbon on my finger. It immediately spun out in all directions astounding me. That is the first and last dream I have ever had about getting married. After that vision I had to center myself with some creative breathing techniques.

Strange how spirit works. Am I not done with that relationship?

Pack light

The sunrise was surreal this morning. The fog covered everything under the treeline in a charcoal grey cloud. The Sun, not yet risen, cast it’s first rays of the new day highlighting the fog and the promise of a new day.

Today’s card is the Autumnal Equinox, Release card from the Earth Magic Oracle Cards by Steven D. Farmer. This card reminds me of a childhood vision.

My parents had a picture that resembles the image on this card. One day while looking at the picture I was instantly in a scene with my great grandfather, who had passed.

We were walking together and he told me I am my uncle who died as a baby. In this vision, I was the full grown man I would have been if not for death in infancy. My uncle and I share the same birthday and are both firstborn. My age at the time of the vision was about ten.

Farmer puts it well, “trees prepare for the winter and conserve their life force.” It’s time now. My soul had to wait. I had to conserve my light. I don’t know why. The energies now are helping me let go of many things. It’s important to pack light on long journeys.

Amongst Other Assets

Today is a good day to write. The weather was weird today. The clouds hung low and it snowed, but not quite in the valley. It rained a light drizzly rain. Work was fast and furious. The evening with my kids was nice and long. I like when that happens.

My self-centered tarot card for today is VIII Strength from the Sirian Starseed Tarot Deck written by Patricia Cori, illustrated by Alysa Bartha. The artwork on this card makes me want to go out and buy the original. The strength of the tiger made more so by the flames. The woman dancing in the flames balances the tiger’s aggression with her halo of eight stars amongst other assets.

Patricia Cori states, “This key teaches us that inner strength is as much about gentility and grace as it is about force and fierceness, the vital and even sexual animal response.” My day provided many opportunities to balance my inner animal with grace. My ego nearly came out and showed its teeth. Still waiting for the sexual animal response.

Not Just the Pursuit

I woke up early today. My stomach was retaliating after a marvelous Thanksgiving. There was a skiff of snow on the ground when I went outside this morning. I really need to get a great pair of boots.

Today’s card is The Weaver from the Native American Tarot Deck by Magda and J.A. Gonzalez. The image of a skilled woman working at her loom dominates the card. A large bird flies high in the desert background.

I admire the weavers of the world. Their nimble fingers creating beautiful designs. The Gonzalez’s describe the weaver’s great work as “mingling-or weaving-of contradictory elements. The Weaver implies the correct way of new life in the path of the true will.”

My dreams meander through my daily life comingling with my imagination to form the most beautiful life. I am thankful to be living my life in the realization of happiness and not just the pursuit thereof. Truth + Dreams = Happiness

Latent talent

I see pink in the clouds as the Sun sets. It is a cold blustery day. I saw an extraordinary number of geese land in the alley across the street from my house this morning.

Today’s card is Four of Pentacles from The Goddess Tarot by Kris Waldherr. The woman in the image is beautiful, young, and living in abundance. I love how the pentacles are lotuses in this deck.

The card immediately makes me feel like everything is going well. The meaning attributed to the card by Waldherr is, “Wealth and prosperity. Stabilizing material forces in life. A family inheritance-this could be a talent, money, land.” Most likely a latent talent I have no idea about. I’m pretty sure my family has no money and no land, aside from that we live on.

My life is beautiful. Just like the image on the card. Appreciation smiles through my eyes.
